ICOM National Committee of Armenian Museums was established in 2008 by a groupe of museum workers from the Assosiation of Museum Workers and Friends NGO.

The aim of ICOM Armenia is to enhance the roll of Museums in Armenia, to contribute to the development of the Museum Work, Museology and the related fields, to provide professional development opportunities and international network to the museum specialists in about 120 museums in the Republic of Armenia, to integrate the modern technologies and media.

The mission is to make the Museums desirable spaces to visit for educational, entertainment and tourism purposes as for local, so for foreign visitors. To make the museums the best places for preservation, conservation, restoration of the national and international heritage of Armenia.
